lyrics

The Drought Whore

She drifts through the desert, like plague.
Like whispers, spoken from guilty tongues.
To see her, is like staring into the blackest sun.

The blinding light.
Her deathly beauty.

She arrives in our old dusty village, on a coal black horse that smells of decay.
The sun burns hot and high.

The most beautiful thing, any of us had ever seen.
Hair as black as soot, body long, thin and lean.

Eyes like daggers. Lips so moist and soft.
She spoke her first words. And we were done...

“My name is Lady Naiad, I come to you from across the sea.
I have traveled many miles, may I please rest my feet?”

One by one we threw ourselves at her, we wanted to fuck her, to taste her.
Our wives forgotten.

Our children left to starve, all for this whore’s cursed cunt.

Our wells run dry, our crops turn to dust.
Our livestock rot, from the inside out.
This demon whore.
Our eyes, to blind to see the truth.
Stealing our souls.
This demon whore.
Feasting on our will, she grows stronger.
We are powerless against ancient evil.
This ancient evil.
This demon whore.

She makes us promises, sex and power.
Eternal life, lies upon lies.

I fear this basilisk, I fear for my family.
I fear we are doomed.

I scrape my eyes out, before she looks at me.
I stuff my ears with ash, before she speaks to me.
I carve my tongue out, before a deal is made.
Why?

No, you can’t resist, the call of the Drought Whore.

I lie here now, deaf, blind and mute.

Yet she calls to me, and I can hear.
“Be one with me, and you will live forever.”
“Lie with me, and I will show you Heaven.”

She envelopes me, consuming me.
I pulse inside of her, I become her.
I feel her heart, her ancient soul.
Thousands of years, thousands of lives.
Her promise of eternal life fulfilled, it is a crooked bargain.

The blinding light.
Her deathly beauty.

Meat for the beast. A village of souls her feast.
On to the next.
We continue, across the desert.
Into the setting sun.
In search of our next meal.
Our next meal...
